Regular Worship Rituals and Offerings
At five in the morning, before sunrise, the priest opens the temple door and waves kakadyan to all the family deities, including Lord Narasimha. At this time, the deities are shown a serving of khichdi.
This puja is completed at 7 am in the first prahara. Both the idols of Shri Narsimha and Shri Shamraj are bathed in Panchamrit and worshipped with Shodshopachar. According to the Narsimhapur custom, the puja is performed with Rigvedic and Samavedic Suktas as well as Puranic mantras. Then the Shri idol is dressed in a costume.Aarti is performed with incense and a Naivadhya of Shri Payas is shown. Then the family deities are worshipped.
At 12 noon, the Mahanaivayada of Shri Puranpoli is shown and a Mahaaarti is performed.
At 7 pm, the shrine is worshipped with the Panchopachar mantras and incense, lamps and Naivadhyayukta. At this time, the drums Naubat, cymbals and Ghati are played in the Nagarkhana.
At 9 pm, the shejarat of Shri is performed. After the shejarat, Champuprathana is said and the Shri is shown a milk offering. At that time, a footpath is laid from the silver pole in front of Shri to the shejara. After all these rituals, the priest asks for the forgiveness of Shri Narasimha and closes the ceremony.
