About Nira Narsinghpur

Where sacred rivers meet, history breathes, and nature sings.

Nestled at the serene confluence of the Nira and Bhima rivers, Nira Narsinghpur is blessed with nature's beaunty. Once a dense forest echoing with birdsong and peacocks’ grace, this sacred land carries tales of beauty and loss.

The Second World War changed everything—trees fell, birds fled, and the grandeur dimmed. Yet today, the Narasimha Temple stands strong, echoing stories of resilience and spiritual glory.

“Even today, peacocks and parrots whisper tales of the past amidst temple courtyards and ancient towers.”

Located in Pune’s southeastern corner, near Indapur, this pilgrimage site invites seekers from every corner. Whether arriving from Sangam station or through Bavda's historic gates, the experience is nothing short of divine.

Padma Purana:

सुदर्शनमित्याभिहितं क्षेत्रं यद् वेदविव्द्रेः

तन्नाशभिरेषभूगर्भे क्षेत्रराजो विराजते ।

Under this:

यद् क्षेत्रं वेदविव्दारैः सुदर्शनं इति अभिहितं तत्

एषः क्षेत्रराज: भूगर्भे नाभिः विराजते ।

Meaning: “What the Vedas describe as the Sudarshaniya Kshetra is the Kshetraraj—Nira Narsinghpur—seated at the earth’s navel.”

A Government of India geological survey near Bhivarwangi further supports this spiritual belief, concluding the area to be a significant earth center.
